RE: What the ...?
Maybe you can explain this one. We were driving down a mostly 2 lane highway and we came upon a slower vehicle (van) doing 55 in a 65 mph zone. We are doing 60 mph, and when we get the very safe chance to pass (3 lanes with no traffic in opposing direction) we attempt to do so. On goes the blinker and we pull over to pass. Well, this guy then puts his blinker on and pulls in front of us to keep us from passing! What was up with that? We couldn't figure that one out. Maybe you could enlighten us? Have never come across this before.

Many should reread this. Notice. they tried to pass in the 2 lane section. There was no passing lane for the driver in front to pull into, or to protect. there was no place for him to move over to get out of the way. He was blocking pure and simple. Why? WE on't know. but it was very dangerous for him to do. Not to mention stupid, and rude.
or maybe you should reread it...

the OP tells only the beginning of the story, even when asked what the rest of the story is, replies as though he is upset about the remarks... but still never tells the full story and leaves it up to assumptions and interpretation...
in that case any answer fits, form the sublime to the ridiculous...
No, Terryallan is correct. JJBIRISH, what is the rest of the story that you need? I gave it in a later post, so what's the problem? There isn't much to tell, but I think YOU need to read a bit more. We eventually came to a passing lane on our side and were successful in getting past him. I think he did have Idaho plates, but I'm not absolute about that. There was nothing in the lane that he was trying to avoid. It was plain and simple a case of him not letting us pass. That's it. And furthermore, I'm not upset about the remarks, I'm trying to keep you all from getting upset. It was a lighten up comment. So lighten up! BTW, were you the driver of that van? :B
RE: What the ...?
Had that happen to me once too... Pay care full attention to the upper case letters
Some folks are just Aggressive Hostiles.
It's that simple
I think you're correct! There really was no obvious reason for his actions. :h
RE: What the ...?
You have to understand, we weren't upset or even pissy about it, just thought someone could give us insight about this behavior/maneuver. Goodness gracious don't try to make it into something it isn't. Sheesh.
Chill, and try to relax! :S We're alive and doin' fine. Goin' home.
RE: What the ...?
Where were you anyway?
We were on highway 20 after leaving W. Yellowstone, but we were then in Idaho. And NO, he didn't make a left turn! My thought was, he didn't think we should pass at this spot, for whatever reason, I don't know, maybe he was the highway 'po-leese'.
We are now in S. Ogden chillin' with family until Monday. This is the last leg of our trip. Then Yippee!, on to home, where my heart, and grandson is. :C
RE: What the ...?
Were you towing or running a large rig? Theres alot of cases where bigger rigs will pass slower ones, only to then slow down MORE than they were.
We were driving our 38 ft. mh along with our toad. We would have passed him and been gone leaving him to his 55 mph Sunday cruise. Could be that he wanted us to save gas, hadn't thought of that. Eventually, in a few miles we came to a passing lane on our side and cruised on passed him as well as everyone else behind.

RE: Un-doing a new RV Purchase (need advice)
Well we've been there and had those feelings now let's see, 4 times. With every RV purchase we've made, as a matter of fact. You aren't alone. It's scary but remember this, your wife wants this, you do too though you are running scared now, and your kids want it. What's changed? YOU are scaring yourself bigtime. Stop it! Stop doing that to yourself.
You talked your wife into looking at used, and that's what you got, USED. Chucked that one away, and now you have a brand new RV that you purchased. Relax and enjoy it. We sure love ours.
BTW, it'll all be just fine. I promise.

RE: What is the hardest job other than dairy farming.
I would say being a parent is the hardest job. 24/7 w/ zero pay but lots of benefits and perks! I read an article about a year ago saying a stay at home mom is worth $130,000 salary. Very interesting.
Yeppers, I agree.............MOTHERHOOD. I doubt there is anything harder. Keeping house, feeding everyone, washing clothes, cleaning, running errands, shopping, being a taxi driver, being up at all hours of the night, a shoulder to cry on.....and on and on and on..................
RE: Need help with Splendide 2000 washer
Try turning the knob to spin and see what happens. It may just be in a stuck mode. I kind of help it along when it seems to be taking sooo long in the anti-wrinkle spot. 40 minutes to an hour is much too long, I think. Hopefully this will help get something going.
RE: July 1st another stupid, ill thought out California Law!
We are visiting in Maryland right now where it seems everyone is talking on their cell phone, and you can sure tell. I can't wait to get home to SoCal. :p There's no place like home, there's no place like home......
RE: Nuisance Animals on the Mik Farm. . .
Ya know, I killed a couple of very large bull snakes one time when they were in my chicken coop. I still feel bad about that.
RE: Do you ever feel...... (sorry folks)
I feel for you, but you need to look at everything around you, and only take what is yours. Most of these problems are NOT yours, they belong to others. You have no control over those. Don't let them be your problems, don't let them get heaped on your back. They will be ironed out eventually, for everyone. Most importantly, take some time for yourself and treat yourself well. With kindness, gentleness, and with love. Life has it's ups and downs, but mostly ups. Look up, think positively, know that this will all clear and be beautiful again.
And you will have a new life within your life. Be thankful for that.
All the best, and sending positives your way....................Leslie
RE: My Philosophy
I agree. In fact, when I worked in a dental office, I once printed that saying out to hang in the office. Patients loved it.
Mine now is; I am bending with the winds. I try to bend with the winds as they come along, and they're always blowing one way or another...........
RE: Offbeat Subject
Well we have to have front and back plates, but I would love to have one with this; ROFLMAO. Now I would love that...........someday, someday.
